"Member/Contributor" Rank? Just a suggestion.

Featured Replies

I'm pretty sure OSBot is pretty popular because of it's free bots, but i was wondering, in the interest of the development team that they add a "OSB member/Contributor" rank and take off the "free" client. The "OSB member" rank would be a good 3-5$, which allows the use of 1 bot still. (will encourage most to upgrade to vip and keep a flourishing income to keep the payments rolling to pay for the services which OSBot provides to hundreds. (Could be paid through 07gp equivalent- have a mod manage that section? )

I'm sure there will be those that don't agree or disagree, you may post your thoughts if you'd like. I just believe that everything should come with a price tongue.png , no judge if you believe other wise

Have a nice day

Umm no. The community is big but it's not big enough for a premium fee yet I don't think. $5 a month on top of a membership some members won't want to pay that. As far as I'm aware money isn't an issue with this forum so I don't see why we should fix something that isn't broken.

If it's a section for VIPs to talk amongst themselves then yeah I agree if you pay a monthly fee you should have a forum area for yourself, but alienating paying members and non-paying members won't help this site grow as quickly as it can.

That's a pretty good thought, it could be a one time fee as well, cuz even if it was $5, that's maybe 2m gp? OSbot has many cheap bots that makes 2m+ in one day. I myself make a good 10-20m/daily. it would be a way to repay OSBot developers for their hard work even if you don't want VIP monthly, could always be a one time permanent member rank

A one time fee might be better actually! It would still allow a decent income to come in, however I still think there should be a free version of the bot so you'd have 3 tiers

Unsigned (not paid the one time fee)

Signed (paid the one time fee of $5)

VIP (Pays $10 every month to support site)

Supporter (Pays $55 every 6 months)

The only reason OSBot flourished is because it's free.

Making it necessary to pay for the bot will make it like Advertising other bots isn't allowed., and the userbase will turn to other free bots such as SRL.

I understand that "some" of OSbot's glory has come from it being free, but look at Advertising other bots isn't allowed.. The client 100% shit on apple computers. (that right there takes out a whole community of people that want to bot but can't because of the user's computer alone). OSBot has a very dedicated team of Developers, great scripters, helpful and awesome mods/S Mods and a great community. Not once could i say that about Advertising other bots isn't allowed. in the time that i used it. Put them all together and you'll get why osbot has flourished. Not just because its free. Quality should have it's price :D

This won't work.. OSBot hasn't even came close to the members it's going to earn. Once we hit 100k, then we could start charging for the client. If we do it now, there is a potential to lose members..

If you want the bot to die, implement this. If you still want scripts to be made, and for the bot not to die, don't do this.

Not a fan of this, but even if they proceed forward with this, I personally think this is not the right time, since the bot is not at its best.

Sounds good!!

No amount of reputation, posts or any opinion could be used to truly distinguish which members are known as contributors - the only viable option would be to allow posts to select the members whom they believe are acknowledge by contributors or being respecting but then the issue becomes that the rank will turn into a friends list.

^^You support? you do realise you'd have to PAY to use the bot/website?...

OT:

No.

OSbot flourished because of it being free, we would of never attracted all of the users if it was a pay only bot/community.

The players helped OSbot to flourish, but those players that helped OSbot wouldn't of been here if it wasn't for it being free.
