Should you be? No.

Are you? Yes.

You lose your family member, because they go to jail...?

"It's good to impact other peoples lives that are close to the scammer. Because they will feel worse about it lol"

Here you are implying that parties should be punished even if they're not responsible or took any part of it. Aren't you contradicting yourself?

No, you simply misunderstood what I said.

If you negatively impact the lives of those around someone, the person that caused it all will feel worse.

The person who scammed will feel worse about it, because now he is negatively impacting people that he/she actually cares about.

I didn't imply that the people around them should be punished, I said that it'll be beneficial to punishing the scammer.

Negatively impacting the lives around someone might as well be described as punishing them.

Saying that negatively impacting the lives of the people around the scammer will improve the punishment of the scammer is still implying that its good to negatively impact them (the family members, etc) even though they are not innocent and not involved in the scamming. I don't think its intellectually honest to pretend otherwise..

Yes, it is good to negatively impact their lives in efforts to force a refund. That's what I have been saying...

If you did something, and from your actions now your parents were getting harassed. You parents know that they are being harassed because of something you did, and they know what you did. They know that if you un-do what you did, they will stop being harassed. You know it as well.

It's a much larger incentive to refund what you stole. That's perfectly acceptable.

A semi-sarcastic reply to this:

Punish the parents for raising a retard, seems acceptable to me.

Well i guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on those points. I don't believe its acceptable to harass an innocent party due to the actions of someone else.  I don't think someone should have to take responsibility for something someone else did if they're not involved in it.

Reminds me of the SJWs who blame white people for things their ancestors did before they were born.

SJWs are completely retarded, that's irrelevant and nothing can possibly change. With the situation we're discussing, it can be altered.

I understand that some may disagree with harassment of the persons parents, that's not too nice, personally I wouldn't do that. But I would give them a call, and tell them what their kid did.

I think a blind eye should be turned to doxing. I never said it should be encouraged, just not punished. Decrimed, if you will.

people will do what they want to do on the internet, after all. It's the internet.

People will scam and people will dox.

Whether or not one leads to the other it doesn't matter as at the end of the day, both will be present.

Yee, but people are still scared about getting banned for doing something that shouldn't even be punished or touched upon by osbot staff.

We don't ban users for selling drugs irl, why should they get banned for doxing & harassing banned members?

(I understand for active members, just not banned ones)

Harassing active members deters them from wanting to use the community. Banned ones are no longer active users, should be free reign.

I Mean. as you know, i'm no good duckling and i honestly dont care if someone gets punished.

but from a business point of view, being super lenient on the fact that the community can work as a collective over every scammer and go on a witch hunt wouldn't be wise in the eyes of business.

But like I said, people will do what people want to do. Whether people get banned in future or not for doing things like this then that's a different case, but for a business to outright change their ToS / Rules and say "Doxing and harassing banned members" wouldn't be wise.

Why? Also a plot twist - people get banned for other reasons than scamming as well. Reading the forum rules gives you pretty good idea when people get banned.

Im sick of making this point.

If I see someone is banned on a forums, I would assume they scammed.

If I can get proof that all they did was "harrass" a staff member, then I'll still trade with them.

You don't make any trades on here so you don't understand at all why I, or others, would want this.

Oh please.

You really think there is no reason this hasn't already been added?

I bet this has been suggested many times before, because people are curious about stuff that is none of their business.

Yet again, this has nothing to do with you.

Look at the support this suggestion has.

A search of the forums show that this has not been posted before and yet again..... You do no trades so you don't even know what you are talking about. Off this thread it doesn't concern you.
