Do botting bans come on monday?

Featured Replies

Let us know if you get hit with a ban hammer tomorrow(monday)

I botted, for the first time, for 8 hours yesterday (sunday) with a couple breaks, and then a few more hours this morning (Monday) and got banned today. (Monday)

Only a 1 day ban.

Yep, it said it expired the same day I got it (I assumed midnight that night) but it's been over 24 hours now and hasn't lifted yet. :)

They can run over weekends, as my whole farm got banned (first every 'set' of accounts) as I ran them 24/7 all on 1 ip l0l

So it's just a myth that they'll be preferable to banning on monday's?

Thanks for the quick responses :-)

Not a myth I remember when it was true.

Most of the banning happens on monday I think.

I think there are no manual bans on the weekend.

Nah, they were talking on the bot busting stream that a skeleton crew still works on weekends. Might not be the same for 07 though

I never had a account banned within the weekend. But I often lose 50%+ my accounts on monday.

Botwatch is the name of the software Jagex uses to detect accounts using bots ingame. This system received a major update in September 2012 along with the release of Botany Bay. According to Mark Gerhard, Botwatch is able to profile accounts and determine whether or not they are using botting software. Most other anti-botting measures have focused on protecting and obfuscating RuneScape's source code, but Botwatch doesn't focus on breaking the code of the botting software. Rather, it monitors an account's actions and determines whether or not it is human behaviour. Certain checks are also in place to determine whether or not the game is being played using an official Jagex client.

The Botwatch system has banned players directly, making it the first automated banning system in RuneScape. This being said, Jagex is quite confident in this system and guarantees that all legitimate players will be safe.
