They will just spam the introduction forum

Forgive me, I was under the impression that's where new players are supposed to be.

No matter what, they will find another forum to spam, they don't care if it's in the spam section or not. You might as well restrict them from the scripts section, the amount of times someone spams 'looks like a great script!' on diffrent script threads might be even higher than the amount of posts in the spam section.

I mean sure there's some good points in there but half the disputes we've had lately have been from people with 30+ feedback and a couple hundred postcount,

Both right. We can't really win, but we can try, right?

Essentially the vast majority of the human race are scum and need vaporising.

The irony is as follows;

Trying to get rid of scammers on Osbot is as prolific as trying to get rid of bots on Runescape.

That's going in my signature.

I don't think that post count is something that ensures trustworthiness and its easy enough to get anyway, I'd rather see something like a month on the forums requirement or even a feedback requirement of 5-10 (they have to buy services from others before they can start their own).

I think we can lower the amount, first people are limited to introductions until 10 posts, meaning that they greet new members, then they are allowed in the runescape section until 20 posts, before the whole community section is open apart from spam which is gained at 40 posts

very interesting

interesting indeed.

@OP it wouldn't really be fair because it would act as a deterrent to the real legit people who actually want to start a business or something to that accord as they'd come to understand that OSBot restricts people as they cannot control the scammers and their exponential increase.

However, maybe I think the restriction should be less severe i.e limit the amount of posts per day in sections or even disallow them to post in a thread which is old (i.e do not allow them to grave dig  as I noticed quite a few people grave digging).

Secondly, maybe another potential method of restriction would be to I don't know have moderators scan the spam section every 6h or something and see which user posts the most (today) on that section and check the authenticity of the posts because they may possibly be legit genuine posts and not just stuff like ' doge.png ' ' :???: ' or even ' lol'  If they are non-important posts which are deemed to be just for PC they should be removed smile.png

I would be fine to scan the spam sections (method 2) but sadly I am not a mod emote3.png
