If you are playing Pokemon GO, just be aware you may have downloaded a RAT along with it. 

 

Bitdefender just emailed me notifying that researchers found a malware-infected version on the Android App store.

 

edit: not from official app - only dodgy .APK file app versions.

Heard this was only for people in countries where it is blocked.

If you got the official version of Pokemon GO from the app store, it will not have malware.

 

However, if you are downloading dodgy .apks from random sites, then rip you.

Last time I read an article about it they said they haven't spotted one in the wild. The easiest way to check if it was legitimate was to check the permissions. The legit one only needs Camera, contacts, location and storage.

 

I downloaded mine from APKmirror and everything was fine.
