  1.

OSBot.org, its administrators, beneficiaries, owners, and/or users can not and will not be held liable for any legal and/or financial claim.

In reference to absurd requests, this is illegal.

Thanks for that. Will fix in a few minutes and edit this post with the updated version.

Added a few conditions, scratch what I said earlier.

Receptive to feedback and improvements to this!

In terms of Dutch laws, a Dutch member will have to help me with that. It should be fixed relatively soon and updated, though.

  2. I have a new ToS that I wrote up, that is waiting to be implemented. Will edit and throw in spoiler in a moment.

    I accept

    Decline

Throwing in a bunch of different conditions is unnecessary, and this is a rough draft of course.

Open to edits and suggestions for anyone well versed in law.

  3. I really made this thread because I have to do something that the staff team is not going to do (and I really have to apologize for this).

Everyday I get people in the chatbox, as well as the forums, asking for script recommendations. I can only really list a few, and most of them are premium.

    The Issue:

I think the biggest issue with OSBot right now is a lack of an abundance of quality scripts.

The funds for OSBot are generated by people who pay good money for features and scripts.

However, lately I have noticed that the products within the store and local scripts are not appropriately complimenting the Sponsors/VIPs as well as the normal members.

For example, there is no (good) working AIO Woodcutter, which is one of the most basic skills to make a script for. This could mean one of the following:

    • Nobody wants to release their private script, for whatever reason
    • There is no incentive to doing so

Keep in mind, that I am in no way bashing OSBot and/or it's development team & beneficiaries. I'm simply pointing out what I believe is a flaw and should be corrected in order to maintain our status as the best Oldschool Runescape bot.

I think that for this issue (lack of quality scripts) to be corrected, one (or multiple) of the following methods of correction should be put into place.

My first thoughts on how this could possibly be corrected would be to have the development team (@Laz, @Maxi, and @Zach) develop scripts for use on OSBot. However, I quickly realized that they have their hands full with the development of OSBot 2.

    Suggestions for Fixing:

    1. Hiring a few outside scripters that have a good working knowledge with Java and pay them a good amount for quality scripts. They could take requests from the development team as well as the community. The scripters would be paid per script sale (on their premium scripts) along with a flat monthly rate.
    2. Simply offer to pay more, or a flat monthly rate, for quality scripts to be developed frequently by offical script developers (like Alpha Team).

You can also give suggestions on how you think this should be achieved, if you decide that this is in fact a pressing issue.

    End Goal:

I think the end goal would be to have a very wide variety of quality scripts for use, both paid and free scripts.

    The Outcome:

If everything works out perfectly, the ideal outcome would be the following:

    • More users
    • A variety of good scripts
    • More profit, leading to more features

Please tell me what you think, give me feedback, and if you have any suggestions regarding any part of the thread then post away.

tl;dr - Not a lot of quality scripts out, bring in scripting team to fix this

  4. still have the same problem, no script i drag into my script folder in the osbot folder will show up in my script selector. any other idea's on why this may be? :\

Don't mean to double post this, but:

One of your scripts is most likely corrupt.

Having a corrupt script in your scripts folder means that no other ones show up.

You can fix this by deleting scripts one by one and seeing if they appear after deleting the corrupt one.

  5. I think the PM system within chat (as well as the Forums) could be used as a live chat system, rather than implementing a whole new module for it.

If they ask a question continuously, they should be getting help on it. If the problem is not an easy fix, or becomes cumbersome, then it should be the helper's obligation to PM the user as the not fill up the chatbox.

Also, coming into the chat for help on either setting up your client or fixing a problem within it kind of introduces the player into the chat system and what it's all about. They will be more inclined to come back to it if they have received help from it before.

  6. I'm sure the devs know about these errors and are fixing them. If not, then they will be informed of them by this thread.

If you want to disable the random, go to the settings in your client and uncheck whatever randoms you don't want supported under your Random tab.

These errors should be fixed in the new client release.
