Currently setting up a 100 slot for the crew. Once its set and rolling we will be pushing everything over to the physical server and stopping the cap at a 1000 player server for now. It will most LIKELY be 4-5 worlds with bungee (obviously). Looking to see if anyone with some knowledge would like to help out. if so, lemme know why

It would require more work, I can't deny that, free vs tons of $$$. But its still doable. (the ones i linked aren't great, nor are they tutorials, the functionality is there, just a bit more effort) I'm just trying to state, its still all doable in gimp, whether it take more effort or not, its still there, and still can be done.

The first two there ARE plugins for, it DOES have 3d functions built in for standard. I think you may be right about refined edges, I'd have to look into that one. (Though you can do it with multiple functions to achieve the same results) The rest, you are correct about, it is much bigger and much easier to find help on.
