Hello everyone, 

 

I'm in need of a new wireless USB adapter because my current one ( Net gear A6200 ) keeps disconnecting which is a common issue for this model. Can i have some suggestions on what one to buy, prices don't matter i'm just after one that has large range & fast internet.

My router is in the room next to me and i'm unable to run a cable so i have to use wifi

You can get a plug in adapter that goes into the mains electricity, and uses your house electricity cables to send the data to the sister adapter that you would plug in near your computer, then a simple Ethernet cable to connect, it's what I use and is faster and more reliable than a USB adapter

I have actually been using the dLAN 1200+ wifi ac from devolo for a while, which transmits ethernet over the powerline, and I must admit that I'm very satisfied with how they work. 
You simply plug one into a powersocket near your router, run an ethernet cable to that

and then you plug the other into a powersocket near your pc, run an ethernet cable from that to your pc and have them link up. Then you're golden
I get the full speed out of them even though they're placed on different floors.

I must admit that they usually have a pretty hefty pricetag though, so if that's out of your budget; I've heard alot of good about the TRENDnet TEW-805UB which is an 802.11a/b/g/n/ac unit with 2.4 and 5GHz network support, and it's very cheap (I think it's like 25 bucks on amazon or smth)

Yeah As suggested get the Internet over powerline plugs or at least the intergrated WIFI card, that plugs into a PCIE x1 Lane, the one which are small dungles over USB are IMO poor junk.

No you just connect the first plug to a free electric socket, and connect it to the router via a RJ45 Cable. The second plug you put in the electric socket in your room and another RJ45 cable from it to your PC's input. Then you have a connection. All the data flows over the copper wires in the walls.

 

I would say that method is probably more stable than any WIFI solution, especially if your router in first place has weak range and speeds. Then you don't need to open your PC also

My budget is $1 - $1000 but i live in Australia so our internet isn't the best i'm only getting 7MB/Sec
