How long is an IP flagged?

Featured Replies

Two of my bot farmers have been banned in the span of two days. How long is an IP flagged for?

Should always be flagged its a DB thing so depends on how long they keep there DB's im guessing 5 years +.

100 years from now.
Hmm whats disss? 97.29.325.11
Well.. guys should we delete all of these banned IP's? Mod Weaths last dying breath: Never forgive.. Never forget.. Save them all!

Never. They falgged my parents IP 1-2 years ago and I wanted to bot there over the weekend and lost 3 accounts.

With jagex banning system i would go along and say it is ban for around 1 year and then they probly drop it or because local ip changes every month i would say it would be a month before you can use that one again

I would go ahead and assume that they flag the IP forever. There are basically only two ways around this:

1. call ISP and ask them to change your IP

2. VPN/VPS/Proxy

Why on earth wud jägex unflagging a ip..

Because a lot of people have dynamic IP addresses and the IP won't accurately identify a botter after a certain period of time. I don't know how relevant this is to the OSRS, it depends on how their bot detection system / IP flagging works. I'd suspect it takes a pretty long time to get unflagged. But contrary to what you said, there actually is an incentive for Jagex to unflag an IP address. If it flags everyone or more legit players than botters, the flagging serves no purpose.

If someone provides a accurate answer, we need to lock him to my basement, he is clearly working for jagex.

I'll assume IPs will be flagged at minimum 5 years, the priority of each IP however I'll assume will be based upon the number of bans related to said IP.

The more bans, the higher you are on the suspected list when playing with other accounts.

IPs that have 10+ bans will likely be monitored more heavily than IPs with 0-1 bans.
