did you open the HTML document fully on your screen? Because if you do this, you'll see that your current HTML isn't the same as the one you took a screenshot of, yet if you reduce the page width, it works.

 

put on pastpin, changed to html and downloaded it, opened it in safari

and you title you dont need to use < >

 

just <title> test title </title>

<br> tags are tags which break off the line, the same idea when you press ENTER.

HTML works on rows which are numbered, so if you put something in row 3 and you put something in row 5, row 3 will show first and under that will show row 5 ;)
