It'll be interesting to see how you do this, as some basic Java and programming concepts are (in my opinion) a prerequisite, possibly a corequisite, to writing high quality scripts.

I would of course start with the very basics of Java, at least the ones that are vital for writing scripts.

Well this is for sure the way I would go

 

I never read anything from the java docs ever, learning by trying & stackoverflow questions are the way 2 go
