Implement Premium Script Requirements

Featured Replies

I know OSBot's all about the open market and being able to allow anyone to upload a script, but lately there's been some absolutely retarded premium scripts being added on to the SDN. The staff members love to complain about refunds but yet they won't do anything to help stop it (like adding requirements to have a premium script). All we need is some sort of test or something to approve individuals for uploading premium script. That's it. Not complicated.

I'm one to talk to, considering the first script I ever uploaded to the SDN and made premium was made 2 weeks after me learning Java and not knowing what in the hell I was doing. There is no way it should have been accepted.

There are no current requirements? I mean, there's a requirement to buy/sell accounts - no matter how small - before there are requirements on scripts that the site is selling?

There's scripters, with premium scripts, who don't know the absolute basics of Java which you learn in an introductory video.

Alek has made it pretty clear that after his exams & school work he will be looking into this and making changes. (e.g a complete script review along with its scripters).

He's also upping the standards needed for scripts to be accepted. So in reality I do think you will see a vast increase in script quality and expectations in the future.

I thought it was funny when someone mentioned how a scripter didn't know how to do something so simple that even I know how to do. Sad part is that I consider myself pretty ignorant when it comes to java. xD

There will always be ways for bad scripts to slip through, having a test is a bit of a joke. Hopefully they can find a way to check each script before uploading it, but that takes time and resources OSBot doesn't seem to want to dedicate.

What kind of tests did you have in mind?

Out of curiosity, what scripts are you referring to?

Like I said a few times.

I think a requirement for SDN scripter is to have at least two(maybe one) free script on the SDN for at least one month - updated and working.

Free scripts should not get you SDN scripter rank.

Premium scripts should get you SDN scripter rank.

Just a simple Java application like all the other sites have. Scripters who have already been approved can even comment on it to help @Alek with the decision.

Person X takes test, doesn't know how, asks person Y (who is quite smart) for all the solutions. Person X gets approved.

I can't think of a good way to approve scripts except by looking at each one thoroughly upon submission.

how do you apply for the ranks?

or do i just need to submit scripts to the SDN?

ive been trying to work out how to submit for  a premium script for a while now

I am not part of the other sites, so I am not as aware of what they do as you are.

I guess my main concerns for this idea are...

1. Will the scripters who have been approved really help out since they are not getting paid like @Alek is?

2. Will the scrtipters be fair and not disapprove of this because of competition?

3. Will the scripters that have their scripts up for approval be willing to let the other scripters see their code?

If I misunderstood your idea, my bad.

This is a site that targets cheaters.

Setting up and correcting tests that will most likely get cheated on (a lot) seems like a waste of time :/
