How does it feel going first when trading?

Featured Replies

Just curious how you guys feel.

Anxiety? Nervous? A sense of fright/despair?

Although I've never gone first with a great deal of my trades, I'll have to saw I felt nervous about the ones that I have. I only truly trust a handful of people. Feedback means very little to me and doesn't accurately describe someone's trustworthiness to me. I've seen too many scams to consider people trustworthy with 100, 200 and even 500 feedback.

Since I never really had to go first, I never thought about it. How it must feel going first to someone. Hoping in the back of your mind that they don't scam you, always trying to stay positive and calm during the trade hoping that it goes smooth.

What do you look for in someone before you decide to go first to them? Feedback? Activity? Posts? Professionalism?

Feels horrible, cause I know anyone is capable of scamming no matter how much feedback they have. Astrola for example lol.

However if they have a lot of feedback, I tend to feel a lot safer if it is in the high 100s and up

Does the use of a mm make you feel any safer?

not really, unless it is a verified middleman or a moderator.

For the same reason, middlemen have the ability to scam as well, since they'll be handling more money.

I don't really mind it tbh. I only do small amounts of trades etc. so if I got scammed I won't be that bothered xd

I usually only go first during small trades in which I know the user personally; feedback itself doesn't really dictate my trust towards any user unless it is significantly high. I never feel nervous whilst going first, mainly because I do not put myself into a situation in which a scam will occur. Even if it does the user would be IP banned and I'd make the amount back within a day or two since I go first in miniscule trades. laugh.png

thats exactly how I do it as well. Do multiple increments and I feel a lot safer lol

I honestly hate even being put in any kind of powerless position like that :L

I'll only go first I deem that the size of the trade isn't worth being banned over (in the other person's perspective)

I don't go first often.

When I do it's a bit nerve-racking, unless I'm going against someone like @Probemas or @Divica. laugh.png

Honestly the higher the Feedback the user has, the more potential and the more wealth the user can get ahold of if they ever scam quit.

Sorry but thats my logic

I've sold you gp b4 you went first to me you loved me and you know it <3

I never go first unless they are high fb or staff. Its a bit nerve racking if they are neither of those.

Yeah i agree with your thought on the subject, it really just depends on the person.

It's honestly annoying to me, though, doing increments.

Someone wanted to swap 4m to RS3 a few days ago. He said me first, I said no, sorry. He then said he has a friend mm, I said I'm not using a mm for a 4m swap. He said I'm really suspicious. :p

He then offered 4 trades, 1m at a time. I told him that's a waste of my time and no, sorry. He said I'm really fishy.

He also wanted 20m RS3... I told him I'll give him 24m instead of 20m... He said it sounds like I'm trying to scam him. I said I'm just a honest guy, no scam here, lol.

But increments get annoying. I can understand if it's 100m or something, I won't mind. But, honestly, under 20m increments gets annoying... I just find it a waste of time in most situations.
