I'll start us off.
I think the world is better off without religion.

Religion clouds judgement, and directly shapes peoples perception of the world. There is no greater sin in my mind then directly influencing how people think to such a massive extent. Also taking a look back on the past and present, Lots of wars, genocides, etc all stem around religion. I  think it's the one thing that keeps people divided instead of coming together in peace.

I have nothing against religion this is just my view. What do you all think??? Please leave a reason to why you voted the way you did.

I have very valid reasons on why I think it would be better off without and why I think it's all fake. But I don't think I should post my reasons as it may offend multiple users.

I have mixed views on this. I'm personally not religious what so ever, however I do think it helps people get through rough times in their life. It gives them a sense of hope and, when it comes down to it, something to live for.

I think you shouldn't write with background color on your text, and I have no opinion on the matters, as I don't have enough information on the subject to draw any conclusions having any meaningful input.

This is true.. very true. I hear stories all the time how the belief in "god" has helped many drug addicts, etc get over there addiction and so forth. I have also heard of many people shunned, from religion, because they are Homosexual, Lesbian, Transexual, Bi, or because they have certain other beliefs. they preach love, but there's so much hate at the same time.... so I don't know.

Personally I am religious, but I don't care what your beliefs are, I just go with the flow, nomsain. :P

This is exactly what I was going to say.

Why I think it's bad: I think each and every person should have to come up with their own meaning to life, not just "God made me, he has a plan for me, I'm special".

Why it's good: It helps so many people cope with bad things in their life. Like when my grandfather died my mom would've went off the deep end were it not for religion.

Edit: Now that I think about it, maybe having "God" as a coping mechanism to deal with the suffering caused by lost ones actually makes people weaker. I believe the world will be more united, educated, and less primitive once we finally stop placing faith in fake gods.

That's exactly how I've always felt. I never wanted to put my faith in something because that means you have to rely on that to be happy or have a purpose. Why not search for your own meaning so you can be happy with yourself instead of looking towards other things.

Oh, okay. Well in a way the belief itself that there may be more just after death is comforting to many people. For many people in my country such as myself it's also almost a tradition and a way of life that we've been taught since we were kids.

Religion is something everyone will have to decide for themselves however alot of wars and conflicts and economic wars have started becouse of religion still today if you look at the middle east in my opinion if everyone would respect each other religion there woulden't be as many wars.

I think without there would be unity and with unity there would be way less wars but this just isn't going to happen in the foreseeable future.

You just can't seperate religion from politics neither can you seperate religion from business or business from personal they all mix up at one point and your religion already makes most of the decision.

I think it's best to respect people with religion and keep their feelings in mind as they may have a very different perception.

I think we should be looking at the people themselves instead of what they believe in, too many things influence our lives to pin one thing as bad or good because everything we have learned contributes to our impression of it (why everyone is effected differently by certain things). Some people benefit greatly from religion while others seem to take it in a negative way.
