Marijuana: Legal or illegal.

Featured Replies

I ain't wanna see high people wandering off the street. Shit can do dangerous to other people too.

Honestly you'd be surprised how many people are high in public (experience in working in retail) it doesn't effect people that much. Now when you first start smoking it might be a little to much to handle but once you build a tolerance it really has no effect on how you perform

I live in The Netherlands and have never used drugs i'm not against Marijuana and I think it should be legal in small quantity's becouse it's a softdrug and if people like to enjoy it i'm fine with that.

However I think where it gets legalised there should be no using it during driving or any high risk job and there should be checks and increased jail sentences for the use of it during driving or other high risk activities like flying a plane or operating as a doctor.

Why would you want something that effectively relaxes people and has a consistent affect (unlike alcohol) and has medicinal properties (regardless of what many of you ignorant people believe - look into the properties of CBD) legal? Keep the plant illegal, there is no money in regulated quality product. No money for dealers who are more focused on the business aspect of the plant.  There's no money for big companies who sell prescription medication to insurance companies that have ridiculous side affects.  Why would you want something that the human body has receptors specifically designed to interact with (that regulate homeostasis) legal? Keep the fucking plant illegal. See, it's not about whether or not you smoke it, or bake it into cookies, or vaporize it, it's about the fact that if they legalize marijuana for medicinal and/or recreational use, people who don't stand to benefit, stand to lose. There's a reason that marijuana is one of the few (if only) illegal "drugs" that universities are not allowed to study due to federal regulations. (while they can study crack cocaine, meth, or heroine without an issue.)  We live in a fucked up reality it's sad that a lot of people don't see that.

If you don't understand what I'm actually saying, I'm all for the legalization of marijuana, it's just that a lot of people with a lot of money have a lot to lose.

your on a site full or teens. They're all obviously going to say legal.

just about any hobby is a #moneywaster...

  • sports (like paintball)
  • smoking anything (cigars, cigarettes, hookah, meth)
  • drinking alcohol
  • buying expensive clothes
  • buying nice cars
  • going to college for a lot of people is a waste of money

^ENTERTAINMENT^    People pay to be entertained.

What's the matter with someone being legally allowed to watch a movie? nothing as long as they don't bother anyone else, and as long as they pay? make sure the big movie companies get their money and the theater gets theirs...

What is the matter with someone legally choosing to smoke a cigarette? or a cigar? whether socially or just for their own personal hellofit? if they choose to smoke tobacco it's alright, as long as the big tobacco companies get their money and the government gets the tax, and the store gets their money.

The problem with someone choosing to smoke (or ingest) weed (bud, flower, pot, herb, grass, marijuana) is that big companies lose out on potential profit - because, at the moment, where I live marijuana is illegal.  Major reason is because for a lot of people they use marijuana for the purpose of relaxing.  Marijuana does help relieve a lot of stress for a lot of people, and in a relaxed state you are less likely to want to drive, or go out in public, T.V. is sufficient and everything tastes good.

Regardless of your standpoint on it if you understand marijuana to be illegal (if you grew up with it being illegal around you) imagine if it wasn't a big deal, imagine if there was nothing wrong with getting high, if it was socially acceptable and understood.  That's a difficult thought process isn't it?  A major factor I believe that plays a huge part in the inability to gain momentum is the idea that people are limited to what they know.  Many people for a long period of time have been told since they were a day old that you're a sinner and a rebel and will die and be condemned if you smoke pot.  Marijuana isn't illegal because it's bad, it's bad because it's illegal.

The biggest reason that marijuana isn't legal for medicinal purposes is because it's far too promising.

I've read many articles and been on many forums where people have shared their [positive] experiences and there's always a point (whether made or not) at the way that pharmaceuticals are in more ways worse. <-- I can link to them and come up with a list if anyone would really like, although not hard to find yourself if truly interested.

The biggest reason that marijuana isn't legal for recreational use is: There is no money in a plant people can grow and harvest themselves.  That said, dispensaries will be everywhere, accessories will be everywhere, but it can't be expanded upon very much - in the same way that alcohol can't necessarily be expanded upon, oh wait* alcohol is addicting... - most people will start growing their own if legalized, dispensaries will still have their place but once people are adequately provided with all the things they will ever need to grow and smoke, there isn't much room for the business aspect, and because it is an herb they can't really come around taxing you for growing it can they? how much work would it be to fill out tax forms if they decide to tax forms if people choose to grow their own herb?  It's not like there is a tax for growing oregano, it's healthy, but doesn't contain CBD, so it doesn't really take away from big pill producing companies.  Hmm, it seems that all in all, marijuana is only illegal because although sure, it could be taxed, it wouldn't bring in very much money, and it's hard to make something that people have been told for generations is the devils drug, legal (moreso when a lot of people have a lot to lose.)

If you actually read all of this, and understand what I'm saying, feel free to leave me a like on this post - I appreciate it.

So happy I live in Holland. It isnt legal here but you can buy up to 5 grams in the coffeeshops. The government did this so they have control over the drug business and it gets them cash by taxes.

P.S. you have to be at least 18 to enter the coffeeshop

"Marijuana is more healthy than alcohol" - biggest scam ever. All drugs should be illegal in my opinion.

Legal so the idiots can kill themselves off.

I do, however, think it should be allowed for medicinal purposes. I'd rather smoke marijuana than take some crazy drug that's going to give me nasty side effects and make me dependant on taking it long after I require its use.

it's legalized in holland and some states in america so why not?
