Buying Accounts falsehood

Featured Replies

Is buying a runescape account even worth it?

Can't the owner always retake it by supplying the first IP the account logged into?

I feel that even the absense of recovery qs and verified email isn't enough for you to keep a bought account.

Is there any garaunteed way?

If so, how?

There must be a level of trust established, too. Yes?

If you have the original email you're safe.

There is almost always a possibility that the original owner can recover the account no matter how much information they give you when you buy it.

False.

The original owner can always recover the account by emailing to ' Accounthelp@jagex.com '

So no, buying an account is not safe, at all.

If a person wants to recover their account, they can always do it. There is no way to protect your account from getting recovered. You could possibly get enough information on the account that you could recover it back if they do, but if somebody is planning on recovering the account they obviously won't give you the correct information. Another problem is that they can see the ip used to make the account, and what ip's were used to login to the account. Obviously ip's change alot, but will still show you from the same location.

Basically if you wanted to completely protect an account by having the ability to recover it you would first need to obtain all the personal information related to the account (transaction numbers, date created, isp provider, etc), and then you would need to get the ip of the person who made the account (and make sure they are not using a vpn), You would then need to have access to a network with the same isp and location as whoever made the account, and then perform an account recovery before purchasing. If the recovery is successful then I think you could say you have secured the account.

That's obviously a lot of effort and if somebody is planning on recovering the account they probably wouldn't give you the information required.

Having the original email DOES NOT help at all. The process for recovering account is really simple, they can email Jagex from any email account saying their account was stolen. Jagex will then lock the account and they recover through the website by filling in their information.

The original owner can ALWAYS recover the account. You just gotta decide if you trust the person or not. For me, I only buy gold farming accounts from non trusted members, but I would never buy an account that I would play legit on.

I have an account for sale, and it doesnt have an email so to change the pass you need to put in an email, so my one is safe, I will post it for sale once @ 20 posts

Personally, i would never buy an account.
