Not trying to use jagex accounts yet.. what client am i supposed to be using, and where do i get it?

Read the text when you start the client, run the OSClient.exe on your pc, if you do not have it, install it through jagex launcher (Bolt might work aswell)

Yeah, I read that, but I cannot find the OSClient.exe... I can only get the jagex launcher

C:\Program Files (x86)\Jagex Launcher\Games\Old School RuneScape\Client

Just type it in your search bar if windows and it will pop up right away, if not you will need to install it though jagex launcher, you also have to update it through jagex launcher every time the game updates (like once a week usually on monday)
