Take powerbot as an example - over there people often don't take others seriously who don't have the Scholar/Fellow rank when asking/answering questions. I think following StackExchange (StackOverflow) would be a better idea than a Scholar rank: Everyone has a 'reputation' You can increase someone's reputation if they post a good answer (requirement 10 posts to upvote) You can decrease someone's reputation if they post something unhelpful/wrong (requirement 100 posts to downvote) And so on.
