Bayless Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 A scholar rank as in p****bot is for advanced, intellegent members of osbot, who know lots of java and math and deserve a special rank!
GoldenGates Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 1. Can't mention other bot sites. 2. We're not them, let's not copy. 3. It's not really required 3
Gildarts Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Ehh, I think we have enough ranks for now. Maybe if a homework help section was added, this could be an addition (new rank) to come with that Forum update. 3
Kittens Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 no.. jst get official script writer by releasing a few dope scripts :P
Mikasa Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I don't support, don't really see the need for it
Superman Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Ehh no. Intelligent members? Thats a little broad...
Sam Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 It just creates elitism in the community. Take powerbot as an example - over there people often don't take others seriously who don't have the Scholar/Fellow rank when asking/answering questions.

There's already plenty of this tbh, I was thinking more of Scripter/Official Scripter rather than Trial/Official.

I think following StackExchange (StackOverflow) would be a better idea than a Scholar rank: Everyone has a 'reputation' You can increase someone's reputation if they post a good answer (requirement 10 posts to upvote) You can decrease someone's reputation if they post something unhelpful/wrong (requirement 100 posts to downvote) And so on.
Z1ls Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Yeah lets add some more ranks too right away, like "Professional Coder", "Amateur Coder", "Decent Coder", "Semi Administrator", should i continue? -.- (sarcasm obv.)
Fringie Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 No @ op's suggestion. I think rep would be nice though. Like you can only give rep after you've been with osbot for a month etcetc.
Levi Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I don't support due to the fact there are already alot of Forum Ranks.
YoHoJo Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Scripter rank suffices in my opinion. Although it's a neat fun rank to have/earn it doesn't really seem to serve a purpose.
Celeos Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Why does everything have to be like the other botting site? -,-
