God and Religion

Featured Replies

Do you believe in God/Allah/Buddah? I don't. I think it is a bunch of bull shit. What makes one person so special if all men were created equal? Why can't I be "God"? It's stupid IMO. There is no floating person somewhere in the sky that will take care of you when you die.. When you die you die.. End for you. You might get another life, maybe not.

What are your opinions?

Keep the flaming to a minimum and post intelligently!

There are already a few threads in this section based on religion, God and Death ;)

OT:

I personally don't believe in anything, I used to be a christian up until my Baby cousin and then a couple years later my Father Died, after that I just didn't see it being likely anything was there.

However, I do believe in parts of the bible, I do honestly think there was such a man called Jesus. I believe he was an extremely intelligent man and he already had a head start in life with his Mother being a "Virgin", and because of this people believed him to be so powerful.

I also disbelieve in some other parts of the bible, for instance Adam & Eve.

How did they manage to populate the world, when they had 2 sons? This would of meant the sons would've had to conceive children with there own mother? Which in the bible is frowned upon. Not to mention the kids they produced would be extremely dysfunctional!

I don't believe anything/anyone.

I'm one man army.

I am Satan.

Great to see a Satan in OSBot.. But i haven't mention my religion. My religion is Islam, As i was born in a Muslim family.

Nah, I grew up with a step-dad that is a chemist, so I've strayed away from religion since there is no solid evidence that any "God" exists, etc.

I don't believe in god at all

In my opinion,i think that religion is just hot air basically away of manipulating followers to believe certain things i.e heaven or hell.

to support that the followers of Islam for example, they use teaching from the quran and manipulating them to force children to be mortars for the holy land.

and to add the fact of historic events like the holocaust which if god was true he/she would of prevented or stopped the death/suffering of 12+ million people.

I disagree with the 'all men being equal' part, there are mutations that can happen when you are born. Some negative, and some nuetral.

But on topic of god and religeon, I do not believe in God. I was raised in a Christian family, and my mother still believes in God strongly and she tries to get me to believe in it sometimes. I've lived my own life though, and through my own experiences I have found most of the information given in the bible to be repulsive. There is no physical evidence whatsoever of god being existent.

I believe I can touch the sky

Yes, I do believe in God. I have been raised to this belief, I will raise my children to this belief, and I will die with this belief.

Anybody who wants religion is welcome to it, as far as I'm concerned--I support your right to enjoy it. However, I would appreciate it if you exhibited more respect for the rights of those people who do not wish to share your dogma, rapture, or necrodestination.

The whole foundation of Christianity is based on the idea that intellectualism is the work of the Devil. Remember the apple on the tree? Okay, it was the Tree of Knowledge. "You eat this apple, you're going to be as smart as God. We can't have that. So, when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, if you go for all these fairy tales, that "evil" woman convinced the man to eat the apple, but the apple came from the Tree of Knowledge. And the punishment that was then handed down, the woman gets to bleed and the guy's got to go to work, is the result of a man desiring, because his woman suggested that it would be a good idea, that he get all the knowledge that was supposedly the property and domain of God. So, that right away sets up Christianity as an anti-intellectual religion. You never want to be that smart. If you're a woman, it's going to be running down your leg, and if you're a guy, you're going to be in the salt mines for the rest of your life. So, just be a dumb fuck and you'll all go to heaven. That's the subtext of Christianity.Get smart and I'll fuck you over -- sayeth The Lord.

Another problem is the minds of the children. Children are naïve -- they trust everyone. School is bad enough, but, if you put a child anywhere in the vicinity of a church, you're asking for trouble.

I believe that a power that is above us put us on this world for punishment somewhere elsewhere.

I also believe heavily on science when it comes to this also, but the above is just what I believe. (The bible means nothing to me, no offense to those who worship Jesus/God)

Aight. Religion and god is stupid. There is no proof for it. At all. It doesn't make sense, superpowers are not real. There is obviously no such this as a god, but what I know is that there is something (not someone) that we don't know about that is very powerful. As in made things. Probably from nothingness.

Please edit your post... You can't just talk shit on what someone believes in. Having a form of religion is having hope. And that hope helps a lot of people through life.. Don't ruin that for people.
