they only give an hour or two bans. Only the people who gotten banned multiple times get perm.

Ofc they do right now, their servers are on fire so they had to disable some functionality, they'll prioritize fixing their game before banning cheaters :p

My local city, not that big but quite populated might have been the servers where you live, it has been working great for me.

You cant really get banned the walking is way to slow to get banned and if you ever get banned they soft ban you 1x 15 mins 1x 30 mins then perma

I have done LA santa monica beach in LA which had alot of lure modules. Going to san Francisco pretty soon and i havent lagged once. 

I wanted to give it a try and its been going pretty good now with no lag :P

To get say water pokemon for me, i live in a valley and getting to a big amount of water is a drive. Also populated areas tend to have better pokemons and pokestops and people usually use lure modules on them. So overall its better.
