How much does Agility really affect running?

yes

At level 1 agility, run energy recharges at approximately 1 percent per 7.5 seconds whereas at level 50 agility, the rate is 1 energy per 4 seconds. This bonus is also applied in F2P worlds. Higher Agility levels may also allow you to avoid the damage taken when caught pickpocketing.

I really thing it depends on what your goals are for the account. If it is a long term goal to level the account and actually play it, I would highly suggest getting 80+ agi first, partially through barbarian fishing and partially through rooftop courses. However, if it merely a throw away account or an account your just purely going to use for botting purposes/money making, I wouldn't waste the time. I can say that I have 86 agi on my main and it does make a significant difference. You probably spend a quarter of the time walking that you normally would if you have full graceful and 80+ agi. And it is nice for all the short cuts in runescape. A lot of people take them for granted, but you can navigate the map so much easier utilizing agi short cuts. Just my two cents.
