I used to come to this site for Runescape botting but now I come for the amazing crypto trading advice everyone seems to have! I sold my house last week and am following all the advice posted on forums.

@The Undefeated @HeyImJamie You both are correct. If you write a script properly, it shouldn't really need much maintenance apart from slight content changes. If you want to expand it - that's a different case. Now it depends greatly if you're developing it as a hobby or as a way to make money. In my opinion, script prices are rather low, so unless you want to make some nice $ probably impossible to do with 1-2 scripts. Probably no one here is trying to make a living from developing scripts (check software developer salaries). It's probably a hobby to some extent. Regarding customers - naturally they have the right to be pissed if the script they paid for for an agreed price doesn't work. Especially due to some minor bugs/changes like one extra option in tutorial island dialogue. Takes a maximum of 30 minutes to check, code, test and push. If you got bored developing a certain script (it's a hobby) and it eventually requires a ton of maintenance (due to content changes and not cause it didn't work to begin with) I do understand the scrripter not giving a f for a few bucks. Pretty hard to balance out being ethical and "being a slave"

Absurd amount of time? If you can script properly, your script shouldn't break every update and small fixes won't take hours to fix.

People are expected to maintain their script for an absurd amount of time for little to nothing is what I'm saying. If you can't understand this, you've not been in the real world yet.

We already have monthly payments. If you only support those, you can't ask $8 a month for a Pest Control script. What happens is the user buys it for 1 month at a price of $2, gets the Void and there goes the money for OSBot and the scripter. If you can't take the responsibility of maintaining a script, you shouldn't release one. Earning less than you expected isn't a valid reason to update/fix your script less frequently.

OSBot really should move to a monthly payment / auth system. 1, it'll bring more money for the company and 2, it might motivate scripters to continue to put in the work. Why you guys expect everything to be 100% perfect all the time when all you've paid is a couple of bucks is beyond me.

Hey guys, the title is pretty self explanatory... watch out for bitcoin. The 26th the biggest future contracts come due and its been widely speculated that the whales are purposely oppressing the price of BTC in order to make money off of the futures contracts. I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing some action this week involving bitcoin and its price beginning to drastically increase again. Im not sure whether or not this will affect the alts though, because normally when BTC goes up the alts bleed. Although throughout all of January most alts are at an all time low... Either way, this will be an interesting next week or two!

When 200x people purchase a script for $10 compared to one person buying a private script for $100 the money is still there. The position you get is anchored South-West, so if the entity is 2x2, your position will be the SW corner. Use the entity size along with the anchor position of the entity to construct the area or polygon. Entity has the getSizeX and getSizeY methods used to get the tile dimensions of an entity, tho unfortunately it's only properly implemented in the RS2Object related entities. If you want to do it for NPCs you will either need to hardcode the size, or do some hacky calculations with the model

Hey I already have the perfect Pest control trial and like it is there anyway I can buy it even though its off the SDN now?

I use it for this, it does work if you plan on staying there, banking/breaking does not work with this script though. There's a drop down menu "file" on the top left that allows you to save the config, just go to the wiki and check for garg drops then just add them and click the alch or noted options after you type the name in the loot tab. You'll probably have to set a fight zone and use the "only loot in fight zone" option because if an item drops halfway across the map thats in your loot tab this script will either run and grab it or just sit there with the mouse hovered over it until it despawns. Also a good idea to watch it if your kills are talking to long because the "loot while in combat option" doesn't work. It will only pick the item up if you either eat, pot or finish your kill so if it takes to long to kill the next one others will get your drop unless you pick the wait for loot option combined with the only loot my target option but this dramatically slows down your kill count.
