Final
Acting like we'll leave the EU 't was joke. We aren't going to leave because everyone is a pussy. If we had a labour government and out of the EU, we'd quickly recover.

Genii
on what grounds exactly? There are many plus and minuses, would be interesting to start a little debate The financial downturn caused by leaving would take us about 2-3 years to climb out of. It would also damage our position as a world power.
Final
The financial downturn caused by leaving would take us about 2-3 years to climb out of. It would also damage our position as a world power. We have next to no world power, we are the EU's bitch. Our power is a failed sense of it, in what sense do we have any sort of power in the correct circumstances? The financial downturn is being screamed about but when you actually look at the figures, we would almost instantly recover. The financial disadvantages are that we lose around 60% of our trade due to the EU, yet we already lose more than that since in the EU we lose out on trading with countries such as China. The figures dictate it would be a little worse than a simple recession and that could be quickly recuperated after we realize that the EU won't shut us out simply because we left, they are simply threats. Look at the actual advantages there is to being in the EU, the biggest factor is trade and that isn't even a problem when you quickly realize who we would be able to trade with once we have left the EU. There is a reason the "lets stay in card" is being overplayed and that's simply because Cameron doesn't want it, find what little sources there are on leaving and you'll quickly realize that it's merely a lie to say we'd be crippling ourselves.
