Why do bans affect account sale price?

I don't understand how temp bans on accounts affect the price.  If its a high level main/pure then surely most people are buying to play legit on it so the bot ban is irrelevant ?

Almost nobody buys accounts to play legit on them. It's incredibly stupid to buy an account and play legit on it. If you were doing that why wouldn't you just make your own account?

Why wouldn't someone buy an account to skip a lot of botting/training themselves to play legit?

There's just more people buying the accounts to bot on than play legit on at most sites including osbot probably.

For those that want to play 100% legit on there then they get a better deal out of it, but the others that are interested in botting are losing out a fair bit since high lvls aren't very cheap to begin with from trusted users and it could be easily followed by a perm if they aren't planning to play legitimately.

People buying mains are buying them to bot things which require a high combat level. Plus having a main reduces the chances of being banned, if it was a legit played main before, as it would have high quest points (hopefully) and a range of leveled skills all at a decent level, combined with the account age. There are many pros to buying an aged accounts, but having a ban outweighs most of them, having a botting ban puts most buyers off straight away, other bans aren't too bad like mutes, but again people will still prefer to avoid them and obviously account infractions will reduce the price. If a car has dents in it, it's worth less.
