I love going to the dispute section and reading the posts there. Its really interesting to see the amount people would scam for and the ways they get scammed.

Sometimes there are funny stuff and occasional drama smile.png

Anyways last year i made a thread asking people here if they would scam quit and for how much.

It got quite alot of replies and its interesting to see many people who said no ended up getting banned, even those with lots of feedbacks and post counts.

I have a collective spreadsheet of about 300 cases on how users scam while recording the following

How much feedback they scammed

What they scammed

how much was the scam worth at the time

how much time did they invest

what was their primary feedback prior to scam

post count

forum

id list here but lots of offsite stuff

Some short stuff I'll list from memory

The largest sum of loss between the catagories (Accounts/Gold/Services/Other) in this small sample size would be accounts.

The average scammer scams between 7-12 feedback.

People most often scam in services & accounts

Scammers are usually not part of the forum for a long period of time. If they are they're super inactive.

the largest value tend to be GP, but acc recoveries i'd say is the most common, with BTC Skrill etc gaining popularity GP/chargeback disputes occur a lot less often

Ya i do think the 100 post  count req is a little too low for account selling

Do you think 100 post count req for selling accounts is too lenient?

Maybe X Time Online maybe a good addition along with post counts?

Maybe Time online could have some consideration?

I don't have enough data on acc scams to put the proper thought that I would like into restrictions , but ill but some stuff up anyway.

100 posts does not do enough but raising the restriction hinders those who have intentions of being legit too greatly, but in it's current state just an annoying hurdle in the way of scammers. It is not hard to get 100 post count .

http://osbot.org/forum/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=stats

And tbh I don't even think post count should be visbile to regular users. It puts too much of a label on users who try to use it as a form of trust. It isn't. Which is why I don't think we should rely on 100 posts. Also we get way too many spammers who thinks that each post grows their cock and balls

People can easily cheat or afk their time online. I am currently the 3rd most active in this catagory a good chunk of it is afk.

Putting a cap on to what people can sell accounts for (i.e 10 feedback can sell accs worth 10m 20 fb 20m) only hinders those who are legit. People who scam do not care for these things and will sell super accounts for cheap for a quick scam.

The only thing I can think of is that people just need to make better decisions on who to trust. The majority of account scams come from new users with no feedback. This doesn't just go for OSBot but for this section of the market worldwide across all forums and games. Especially RuneScape because the way the recovery system works, original owners almost always wins and a middleman won't change that fact. This isn't to say that users with high feedback won't scam you for an account but  beyond a certain point of feedback the scam rate drastically decreases. They might cost more but that's what you pay for.

#1 reason I don't trust anyone :P apart from Dbuffed and few others costumers :)

but scam run? give me 50b and u wont see me again in the forum lmfaooooo.

anyway there is not even the need to scam because if u do good services and complete them with ur time u put u will make good profit per week like 100-120m.

u can either run bots for farming accs while u do services. so from my point of view scamming is just stupid and a waste of time. because u wont be able to come back to this kind of community if u get IP banned.
