Monitor brightness and glasses

Featured Replies

Hey smile.png

Since I have a new monitor I am sitting much longer infront of it and I noticed that I am getting a headache from it.

Whats the % of your brightness setting?

I also wear glasses for driving ( I see on the short very good but I have problems seeing in the distance)

Do you think I should wear glasses if I am on the computer?

Please only answer the glasses question if you have experience with it.

Thank you QwPha8E.png

on my imac i use like 1-2 brightness bars lol but that's cus i never play games on it or anything but when i play league or csgo i put it to half never surpass that unless it's a movie or a video and it's dark (in the video/movie)

Whats your contrast ratio, monitor size and how far back is the monitor on your desk and how lit is the environment around your computer

Having some low lit lights and not staring at it in the dark helps me out.

I have -4,50 and the only reason I'm getting headaches is when I sit for to long behind my PC. I would say, go outside more often

Size: 24"

Resolution: Full HD

Contrast: 75

Brightness: 50

Sharpness: 60

The normal roomlight is on ( not too bright but not too dark )

I am sitting around 30-40 cm away from my monitor

And you're getting headaches with this?

I only get a headache at night and also only if I am sitting for a long period of time infront of the monitor, not instant!

oh well that's normal.  Unless you might need a brighter bulb or if it's exposed you need something to block direct vision

Turn up the No Blue light if you have a Benq monitor smile.png it helps tons my eyes feel much better now and my eyes don't feel tired anymore too. I think there are also programs that you can download for low blue light for your monitor.  https://justgetflux.com/ is one of them.

I always wear glasses BUT when I'm behind my computer because I get headaches after a while.

Im sensitive to brightness overall though, whether irl or computer. So I use dark themes everywhere (computer, websites, ...) which does wonders to my eyes.

Also always leave a light on in the room to ease your eyes
