Million dollar question my friend.

I think it's more towards the reports.

If you level woodcutting flawlessly for 48 hours they will know you are botting.

They most likely have a few methods of catching macroing users.

A few ideas people have are:

  • Patterns
  • Play-time
  • Lack of human characteristic.

Nobody can confirm what Jagex use to detect the marco users though, not unless Jagex leak it :p.

Use your imagination. It's quite unlikely to know that answer unfortunately.

Jagex actually have a location in game, ever seen Gypsy Aris in Varrock? She's the in-game representation of them.

They catch botters by looking into their magical crystal ball.
