those types of malware require local computer access to install, and are usually used to steal bank account, but hey if you think it is worth it to a hacker to do this to seal an RS password and you can get rid of it than all the better....

Every virus requires human action.. and no, they CAN be used for that, you can use whatever you want to steal RS account information.

do they take items away for any ban? like a 1 day or only perm bans?

Yeah, JaGeX do take items & roll back accounts. However this is AFTER a temporary ban.

 

I did not notice any rollback of bank/skills yet.

I've got banned over 15 times.
