Do you have dual band router? I have Virgin Media Fibre Optio and it has dual band, one 5GHz signal and another 2.4GHz signal. The 5GHz signal is for short range connections and gives speeds of up to 150mb/s and the 2.4GHz signal is for long range connections and gives speeds averaging around 60-80mb/s (depending how far I am away from the router).

 

If you only have one band on your router I'm guessing it's the short range one, which is why you have terrible signal at long distances

Upstairs, maybe 10-15 ft max, then down the hallway, about 20-30 ft. Its not very far.

Umm, I have 7 other family members, each has about 2-3 devices. Other than that, nothing else that takes up internet. Some lights and chargers. We have the kitchen beside it, if that counts.

Well, depending on how many devices are accessing at a given time you will get varying amounts of drop off in speeds.

My router supports all the devices and the neighbors - they pay me to use my internet, lmao - but it's just that when I move away from the router that it gets a lot weaker. Its nothing horrible but it's a clear difference.
