Banned Users

Quick Suggestion:

Upon seeing a user complain of being scammed 6m by an already banned user (Mohammed) in the chat box I thought that a useful addition to the forums would be a system which automatically PM's everyone on the forums when a user is banned so that the risk of this occuring in the future is reduced :)

Just my two cents,

TL;DR - Implement system which automatically pm's everyone when someone is banned.

P.s. Someone can't remember who at the time of writing suggested that this should only work with people over a certain amount of feedback.

I second this, but maybe only send out the private message if the banned user has 10-15+ feedback?

if a v.i.p/sponsor/higher or a person with over 10fb gets banned it should notify via pm, but not for everyday 1 post accounts to avoid buying V.I.P

other then that good idea.

Instead of a PM make it make an announcement almost like in the side. Kinda like chatbox but smaller and on every page in a corner so as people are banned we can see the list just cycling

Not sure this is possible.

We ban numerous users a day. I personally wouldn't want my inbox spammed with updates on banned users. The issue of privacy arises as well when it comes to bans in regards to multiple accounts, offensive language, etc.

Just make sure you know who you're trading with and get a bit more information about the person before giving someone your money. That'd be the logical thing to do. :P

Is this even possible?

That's what I was thinking - IP.B possibility as well as the number of bans made on a daily basis, lol.

read my suggestion, it negates the spam from random accounts.

But I still wouldn't like to have PM's of the banned people, imo everyone should watch the buyers/sellers profile before trading anything.

It is a good idea, but like I said, IP. Board having a hook that has this feature + a filter system to where IPB would have to decide when to actually send out a notification about a scammer seems highly unlikely.

I don't think it's possible.

Even if it was possible, I don't like it.

I don't want to get PM's every time someone gets banned. I don't use the market enough to care.

As Nick said, just know who you're trading with.

I think this should be an opt in system as some users don't use the market here but I like the idea.
