I'm only in the 9th Grade. I really need some tips from the guys who are older then me.

I try so hard at school but it never pays off, I go to school from 6AM - 6PM. After school I go to Homework Club (It's where you can do your homework and get help from teachers) I still go their but it's just not working. Last year in year 8, the teachers always helped and my test results went up majorly but this year has less effective, teachers barely even go there except once or twice per week and it's generally fully packed. This entire term I only got 60% on both of my maths test, almost 25% short of what I expected. I also feel like I've been slacking in studying, could someone please give me some extra tips?

Thanks

~ Sinon

Make the funnest of your learning experience.

Honestly, freshman year should be he most fun in high school. Make it count in the last two months or so. Secondly, it is a learning experience. I believe you are stressing too much about it and should somewhat relax a little more. Get some more sleep and a good breakfast everyday to get your brain fresh and running.

Here's my biggest tip.

Don't overwork yourself.

Some people just aren't naturally academically gifted when it comes to school man, your talent may not be in academics but it could be something else..

-Sport

-Graphics

-Innovation

-Creativity

Just because you failed a few maths tests doesn't mean it's over haha dw about it :)

Work with other people, study and do homework with them.

Ask help from your parents or address the issue like you told us to teachers.

Join a sport, do your homework, talk to some girls, get some nice friends to hang out with on the weekends, and get a lot of sleep and eat right. If you dont want to join a sport, start lifting in the gym. Your grades should get better, as you're just doing healthy things, and study for your tests :P

I know a good teacher can make all the difference in your grade and attitude towards learning, but sadly you can't change your teacher. You can, however, change the way you study. I find studying math is done best just by doing tons of problems until you start to understand. If you forget how to do something, look it up on YouTube, it helps!

I'm in 9th grade too. My first and second semesters my grades were good. I barely botted and wasn't on as much. Now that I'm on more, I've seen my grades drop slowly. I advise you to keep out of here if you want good grades :/

All the books that I ever received in school generally had study guides at the end of the section or chapter.

Personally, I just learned the material by using the books and participating in class. My goal was to achieve near perfect grades in class so that I could receive B's without doing homework.

Make a study plan, don't overwork yourself.

Practise, practise and practise! That's the most important thing, if you don't understand it then ask for help from your teacher/fellow students or even your parents.

The best tip i can give you is to shut down the computer!

I know that,

if i am active on the internet ( not even games, 9gag as example) i tell myself: just 10mins then i will start to study.

b00m 5 hours later, nvm i will do it tomorrow.

Now its better since i go to university as i learned how to manage my time!

Please don't take freshman year lightly. Its one of the easiest years, and one of the best ways to start on the right track to a outstanding GPA. I fucked around my freshman and got a 2.0. I got a 3.0 as a soph, and I finally realized that life was ahead of me and finally got a 4.1 junior year and a 4.0 senior year. Finally graduated with a 3.2 3.3ish. I regret it so much, I couldn't get into my dream school b/c of the stupid crap that I did and don't even remember anyone by the time I graduate this summer.

Khan academy works, (recommend 100%) and all I can say to you is your either: book smart & gifted, or you one of those people who really need to try. Don't over do it and end up losing sleep. Keep trying and trying, and trust me you'll get it. Do examples that aren't assigned to you. Hire a tutor. Ask you teachers/classmates ect. There are so many ways you can succeed.

Good luck in HS buddy
