Windows 8.1 vs Windows 7

Featured Replies

Which one do you prefer?

I have upgraded to W8.1 since a month ago. I'm actually enjoying it and I prefer it over Windows 7. Windows 8.1 has some nice features, like the apps and other features to me. I do like the fullscreen features of some applications and the Windows 8.1 possibilities to split two full screen applications. Especially since it also splits the Desktop and changes every program on the desktop to fit that part of your screen.

My computer startup has improved very hard. In Windows 7 my laptop took about two minutes to start up. Currently my fastest start-up is about 3 seconds without the use of an SSD.

A negative thing on Windows 8.1 is to change preferences from your computer. On Windows 7 all you had to do is press the Start Menu and go to Configuration. Now you have to sweep your cursor to the right and wait for the screen to follow up.

I'm more of an app guy, so Windows 8.1 is the one I prefer. :)

Windows 8.1 totally changed my opinion on Windows 8.

I'd still use 7 over 8.1, but it's an improvement from 8 without a doubt.
