I put some on guys, my fans are almost silent compared to blasting out on startup thanks so much!

Well lets just say that your CPU would die shortly after windows logo appears if you dont have thermal paste applied to it.

It hadnt worn off, it just gets old and the layer is really,really thin. Especially in prebuilt PCs.

 

Also dont put your CPU back in until you have reapplied thermal paste or you WILL damage your hardware.

Thermal paste isn't important but you can always use tooth paste as a substitute if you want to be on the safe side.

Thermal paste is very very important.

Without it, your CPU will overheat and most fry.

Sarcasm? Thermal paste draws heat from CPU to the CPU's cooler. Without it your CPU dies.

Tooth paste is a better alternative to be honest, it helps protect the CPU and helps reduces plaque... I would recommend Colgate Total.
