First turn off your internet, then do a full restore on your computer (

) then set it back up

do you lose your files if you do that?

Yes, back up your files to a separate drive.

is there any other way?

Uhh, there is but that is the only way I know sorry,

Yes im pretty sure you can seperatly remove the rat , but it would be difficult and you would never know if it's off because some people hide their rat into files etc.

Just go through your recent files and delete the ones you don't know.

It's not a VPN, I can tell you that, Ziggo is a dutch ISP.

Doesn't work like that unfortunately, sure, that would delete the file that infected him in the first place, but not the virus itself. After the virus has been installed (assuming it's a RAT), it makes changes to the registry that allow a permanent backdoor into the system. They can be removed, but I'm not afraid to admit that I couldn't do it, and a rookie in the field, as I'm assuming the OP is, certainly couldn't. The only foolproof way to deal with viruses is to wipe the computer. Copying off files beforehand is a risk, as some viruses can infect certain filetypes, such as pdfs and the like, but should be safe enough. Just whatever you do, turn off your internet connection on the computer immediately, and don't turn it on until you're satisfied that the virus has been removed. (Some keyloggers record logs offline and then send them when the connection is restored.)

Hope you get this sorted.

It doesn't matter if you delete the .exe you downloaded, the rat is already installed, you MUST know where the rat is installed and manually remove it (If possible), if it's a begginer wich probably is, the rat could be on the most common places, just google, i haven't used rats in a while.

Restore your shit and back up important files on a flash drive. It's honsetly worth it, just save your key gens and documents and when you can re-store just re-install shit. Or you can restore back to a certain time period.
