This would be a great idea. Democracy is something that keeps the people more happy than dictatorship. ^_^

It would just be a popularity contest.

There will always be people who will be contented with who makes the staff team and there will also be people who will be against these decisions.

The current administrators together with the other members of the staff team have the most experience, hence they are the ones that pick new staff members as they know what kind of skills you need to qualify as a good staff member. If it's up to the community to chose it will become a popularity contest and the outcome can easily be manipulated by asking other people to vote on someone in particular.

there needs to be an elgibility to run. there should be some sort of campaigning...and a future notice of elections. I didnt even know about cb assistant voting utill it closed.

People would just vote for their friends, and most people don't talk to anyone on the forums besides their friends - so they can't see how well someone else would do with the forums / how good they would be at being staff

 

Many votes may be rigged by people coming together and planning on "trolling" to make someone staff who shouldn't be, or people would start paying others to elect + vote for them

there also needs to be a voter eligibility too!

It's not the admins that are doing a great job, ofcourse they are, but..

Without the members this community would be totally useless, no members no community. :P

 

The admins are just here to make sure every member is following the rules.

The users themselves should have some say in the staff, since they are the ones the staff are there to assist.

I'm gonna have to agree with Maldesto on that one.
