A question for the Admins! (Jagex Bot Detection)

Featured Replies

Hey guys. By the way, you have an AMAZING bot that has been working flawless for me. Keep it up :) Anyway, I was reading over the Botwatch runescape Wiki page, one day when I was bored and noticed an interesting line "Certain checks are also in place to determine whether or not the game is being played using an official Jagex client." Hmmm.... I was wondering. Does OSBot have a system in place to combat this? :/ or do we just get lucky xD or are we at risk? Thanks!

OSBot uses injection to hook in with the game. When done right it is not detectable, however I have know idea if OSBot was done right or not.

There are non official clients that are safe to use such as Orion and also my friend made his own client and emailed jagex if it was safe to use and they said yes

So if they check clients it must me more hi tech than just checking if it's jagex official or not

Wow. Jagex really are a shady bunch. Thanks for the info bro! :D What a fast response :)

Plus its mainly a scare tactic. Half the things they say they do is a lie, if they really could do everything there would be literally no bots :P

I know right!

Technically they could detect everything within the classpath if they would want to check for it. This means they could be able to spot the classes and method that are not theirs. However, they are not doing this as it against some laws to do so. But if they ever would start doing this, we have a way to fool the classpath check.

What I know partially and mostly believe is that Botwatch for the most part is data mining, detecting behavioural patterns in a huge logs database that have been proven to be botlike behaviour either manually or because there is a large collision of comparable data that evaluates the same. This is why you can be banned after weeks, even though you didn't bot in the meantime. Creating diversity in scripts and using gaussian distributions to achieve less predictable randomness, switching up and playing with anti ban methods and other methods will largely decrease chances on that data mining system finding similar patterns throughout multiple accounts, lowering chances to get caught by that system.

But besides that, many of the bans happen manually I believe. And those bans provide the data mining system with a lot of information to learn from, as most of the behaviour of those accounts can be marked as botlike behaviour, feeding the system and improving their chance to catch you.

They could ban all bots if they wanted to but bots pay Almost all their membership so they're more lax than strict.

My Pure was banning whilst using Orion. Last night was staking in the duel arena, just about to win a 10m stake. And I dc >.> GF over 200m on that account tongue.png

That sucks bro! Unlucky I guess >.> Or maybe Jagex meant for that to happen... Yeah. Probs the second one XD

I am guessing this is only to scare people off.

Yeah, thanks for the feedback! smile.png

You're a moron if you think OSRS won't end up like RS3 very soon. Just look at PB... It's dead because people get banned minutes after starting a bot. They can detect the client as well as every script... You only need to watch 20 minutes of Skiller's livestream to figure that much out.

Minutes after starting a bot? Can you then explain my many proggies that show I've botted areas for more than 48 hours+ ?
