yeah so i was none the wiser to a spam bot spamming about "runeslay.net" so keen to play a bit of an rsps i jumped on, i clicked the play button on the website, the java thing for the browser client popped up and i clicked accept... the page didn't load and i gave up. opened back up my osrs and continued playing. then my computer restarted and i got really suspicious, so trying as fast as i could to log in i came to the log in screen merely seconds after the restart, typed my details and boom "your account is already logged in." so thinking maybe it hasn't logged from the restart i spammed the log in button, until i gave up and admitted defeat.

GG runeslay. stole my bank and i can't even log in to repair the damage.

Literally this exact same thing happened to someone yesterday and they posted about it :(

You got a Java drive by. Delete EVERYTHING Java related on your computer and do a virus scan, then you can redownload everything.

I've found an executable file in my %appdata% called conhos along with a script file with the same name, i opened the file to see that it was recording my chrome tab's and what keys i had pressed all in text form, i deleted the .exe and its partner file to see that they regenerated, i opened tskmng and did some searching, i found a file called conhost.exe was running on my pc, ended that and attempted to delete the same files yet again. it failed. i then found a visual basic application running, which was odd since i've not downloaded any vb coding software. i then ended that process and successfully deleted the files.

if you have not done this and you were victim to the same scam then i suggest you also try doing what i've said.

Thats what you get for listening to an advert on rs.

i've now learnt that no one is kind on rs. everyone is out to get what you have and they'll do some dog things to get it.

Seen this kind of scam before. Really sad indeed. I once got offered to become a Moderator on Runescape : VERY SUSPISCIOUS! I ignored it when he linked me to some site, luckily I didn't click it.

Be careful.

The grammar itself gave me mild autism.

These people usually download generators and such.
