I have just downloaded the latest java version and the client still gives me this error message.

it says:

"you are currently running version 11.0.4 of Java, which is unsupported. Please visit the following webpage: https://osbot.org/forum/java"

can you show the download file of tje java you downloaded?

Theres multiple versions so if you want help its best to give more information 😛

Probably because it's still using java 11 over 8. Do open with and navigate to java 8 folder and select the java file like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3SG2xV9nD8&feature=emb_logo

This doesnt fix it either 😕

after changing to java 8, a command prompt briefly opens and closes then nothing happens when I try to open osbot.

unistall all java , and cache etc for clean install  .

Try what Rick said and if not try Jar fix

JARFix usually helps with these problems. Many tutorials on YouTube.
