Banned because of Reddit?

Featured Replies

How possible do you guys think it is that Jagex banned my account because of Reddit?

Mods are very active on both subs and I posted something to both of them, not even of my account (although my RSN is my flair), just a picture of the files of RS3 (Maybe something slightly suspicious because it's hidden). Less than 24 hours after this somewhat highly upvoted post, I got a 'Bot Busting Moderate (ban)'.

It is not appealable. It is a 2 day ban. I had not botted for a while when I was banned, I had just been playing legit for weeks, but I had gotten lazy botting a few weeks ago, botting for longer than an hour many times.

Is it possible they saw my post, decided to look at my account which was my flair name, and saw the suspicious behavior from before? It says 'Bot Busting' which makes me think it's manual, and when you click on the evidence, here is part of what it says: "Our team have reviewed the evidence and can confirm that you were using illegal botting software." I'm used to seeing Macroing minor, Macroing major, etc.

Quite possible, there are a lot of snitches on the subreddit

Wouldn't doubt it. I've deleted all RS posts and dissociated my RSN with my Reddit account and will lay low for a while.

jagex is based in cambridge

maybe they asked cambridge analytica for a list with your online activitys tracked by fb and saw that you visited botting websites

Seems plausible
