Runelite (Open Source) Thoughts?

Featured Replies

What do you guys think of runelite

Do you plan on using it. The project looks like is picking up some steam again and some of the features look really good. I know open source clients are not new but personally I think it has more potential than OSB or Konduit.

Looks decent. Shame Jagex will probably flag your account for botting....then make us through the ball ache of getting it quashed.

Why do you even need these clients if you play legit?

Might aswell just bot if you have all these clients make the game easier for you

Not going to do anything with it but it does look interesting and the fact the features are free vs paid (osb) I think it could be good for a lot of people plus anyone keen on programming will only add to its features. It would be nice to know what Jagex says about it.

For those interested it contains no malicious code (anyone can check it obviously) and it has been accepted by Jagex on the condition that certain features were removed and custom plugins could not be used by others.

Jagex requested some features removed from the client for being against rules, and the features were removed.

Technically Jagex isn't 'fine' with any client. They do not officially endorse any, and they do not officially claim that any will be ban free.

Jagex's official stance is that using any 3rd party software that could trigger botwatch may result in a ban, and that they will not give an ok to any specific 3rd party client/software

Zulrah helper, AoE helper, and Volcanic mine helper.

They also had a custom plugin support, where you could load other peoples plugins they made, that weren't officially accepted. Jagex had them remove that too.
