GTi Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 VPN's are very dangerous to use. I would not recommend to use VPN's. Free proxies and VPN's are run by people who are either interested in recording all your data so they can sell it for profit to database and marketing companies or use it as a vehicle to install viruses and bots on your computer. These people don't give away what costs them thousands of dollars a month in equipment and internet costs for no return on their investment. I HIGHLY suggest you read upon a VPN and what they actually do then come back and write a response. A VPN company like Cyberghost with over 1 Million users earns enough money to run easily just through the ammount of visitors on their site, the also pop up with adverts before you connect to the VPN. I Highly doubt they'll be checking a teenages Runescape account, also they can't get ANY details such as passwords or usernames, it'sa VPN not a keylogger. -.-
Antonio Montana Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 If jagex go to all that trouble for one account then they have faaaaar to much time on their hands! ^^ I didn't really mean it in terms of Jagex's ability, I meant it in a general sense. Was just highlighting if you want to be TRULY anonymous you shouldn't use this VPN it's not a very good idea to use it for anything other than normal browsing. Not even porn!
Helps Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Nice guide, if you guys want a really good VPN nVPN is amazing!
ohhungry Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 If you don't bot at all on your main (I mean actually zero botting), then you don't need to worry about setting up a vpn. Even if your IP gets flagged, Jagex does not blanket ban all the accounts on an IP, they will flag all the accounts that have used the IP and will watch them for bot-like behaviour, and then ban when it is recognized. If you don't bot on your main at all then you have a very low chance (not impossible, jagex bot detection screws up sometimes and bans legit players), of getting banned. But as a warning, if you attempt to bot on your main even for a few hours after logging onto a tainted IP, there is a very high risk of you getting perma-banned, even from zero offences
GTi Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 jagex bot detection screws up sometimes and bans legit players That's because their bot detection doesn't exist. They're full of shit lmfao! They just say that to scare the newer users so they do not bot their accounts.
Khanz Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I recommend a private VPN service, not one well known. http://vpn.sh/
Ironhide Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Nice guide but 1 remark though. For botting I would recommend a private vpn instead of a free/public. Worst case scenario here a chinese is using the same public vpn and get the ban hammer for gold farming. You'll get hit aswell.
rskingp Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 i was using vpn ,but all accounts got banned .why ?
GTi Posted September 6, 2013 Author Posted September 6, 2013 When using a VPN, don't use it on all your accounts. That defeats the object of using a VPN, use a vpn on a few accounts, then get a different IP from a vpn and use it on the rest of the accounts. Using the same IP on all your accounts, VPN or not will end up in all of them getting banned. Use some common sense when using a VPN and botting.
