probably a stupid question but why do people buy osrs gold, other than for personal use. Im guessing people sell it on for profit? if so do theysell to big websites and companies or to other individuals

it has value because people buy it in the same way that they buy gold for clash of clans or other games like that (i.e. to get ahead in the game). beyond that, for people like goldfarmers or goldsellers like kai/bogla, it's just a matter of currency. it holds that value with players of the game, so they know they can resell it at a profit. with cryptocurrencies, the general populace backs the value of a coin, with fiat currencies, a government backs up the value of the dollar (or coin), but with rsgp, the agency that backs it up is pretty much just players who are addicted to runescape

This right here, if its not for staking or flipping. Why spend an hour in game earning on average 1-2m/hour when you can work minimum wage and buy 8m/hour. Saves a lot of time to jump right into PVM/PKing to have fun.

More on the personal side. Most use it for staking but some also use it as capital for botting or flipping.
