Black People Aren't Intelligent Enough To Make It? (Black mans perspective)

Humans beings differ by only 15 million base pairs/5 million Amino Acids, a very small amount. Less than 0.5% of the human body. Saying this, intelligence can vary a maximum of 50% between any two individuals due to environmental and behavioral factors.

So the environment does play a huge part in determining how smart one is. If you look at it from a Sociological approach, you can say that socioeconomic differences is what plays a major role here.
A child born with rich parents who both went to college will have a much higher chance of being successful and "intelligent" as compared to someone born into a poor neighborhood which lacks resources.

There were many studies done on Twins to test this. You can google these research articles and read them if you like

Thanks! I knew I heard of something like that, but I didn't want to say for sure.

I'm pretty sure intelligence is both determined by the environmental factors in which a child is raised and genetic factors. However, I think genetics play a heavier role in this area. In addition, intelligence is not easy to measure because there are multiple elements of intelligence such as the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, and understand complex ideas. Studies involving the nature vs nurture debate use a method called genome-wide association, where they examine variations of genomes between individuals. However, the majority of studies have not conclusively found any genes that underlie differences in the genome that relates to intelligence. It's most likely that intelligence is related to a wide number of genomes that attribute a small amount thus making it harder to detect the level of contribution genetics has. However, this comes back to the nature vs nurture debate which has been an ongoing debate without conclusive proof on either side. Only time and advances in technology will tell the conclusive answer to this. If there is one.

Agreed. But it's a dangerous kind of grey area to even approach the subject it would seem. I honestly believe education & enviromenment are essentially the only factors, barring learning disabilities.

Third person to say that, third time I'll ask what for?

Other two people had no answer.

I just summarised what @Juggles said.

In this case I'm solely talking about African-Americans. It's a cultural thing, not a genetically race thing. Same goes for what you see in White parts of WV & AL. Raised in poverty, poor decisions, lack of resources and access to education.

If you want to talk about Africa, then sure. Majority of it faces roughly the same problem.
