Magarac Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I am looking to get a lightweight, long battery life laptop for school and general use while I wait for my current strong laptop to die and then to build a PC. My budget is <= $500 hopefully. I don't need a touchscreen but it's nice; would rather have a solid build and durability. I've heard amazing things about the Thinkpad but it's lower specs in comparison to the Acers. If you have any other suggestions, please share! Degrecu Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 (edited) Thing is, new thinkpads arent as good as the old ones, so if u dont care much about design def look at the old ones Look into this http://www.dankpads.com Edited May 3, 2017 by Degrecu 1

Chromebooks are weak af imo.
HeyImJamie Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I have the XPS 13 from Dell. Super lightweight, is nice to use and looks dope but it's a little out of the price you've suggested although worth the extra IMO. 1
Apaec Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Surface pro 4 is working perfectly for me (I know it's not one of your options though! - Maybe the new microsoft laptop?). The way I see it, it's worth splashing out on a computer (and phone I guess) as you use them on such a regular basis. -Apa 1

I just wanted to get a < $500 lighter weight laptop to complement the strong and expensive PC I plan on building lol. If it wasn't for that I'd def invest in a Surface or something. 1
