I am looking to get a lightweight, long battery life laptop for school and general use while I wait for my current strong laptop to die and then to build a PC.

My budget is <= $500 hopefully.

I don't need a touchscreen but it's nice; would rather have a solid build and durability.

I've heard amazing things about the Thinkpad but it's lower specs in comparison to the Acers.

If you have any other suggestions, please share!

Option 1:

Acer Swift 3:

Option 2:

Acer Spin 5:

Option 3:

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon:

Thing is, new thinkpads arent as good as the old ones, so if u dont care much about design def look at the old ones

Really don't like HP and don't want a Chromebook either, forgot to mention I do want it to handle coding programs, Photoshop, AI, and the likes. Chromebooks are weak af imo.

I have the XPS 13 from Dell. Super lightweight, is nice to use and looks dope but it's a little out of the price you've suggested although worth the extra IMO.

Surface pro 4 is working perfectly for me (I know it's not one of your options though! - Maybe the new microsoft laptop?). The way I see it, it's worth splashing out on a computer (and phone I guess) as you use them on such a regular basis.

I agree honestly, and my current laptop has been amazing for 4+ years. I just wanted to get a < $500 lighter weight laptop to complement the strong and expensive PC I plan on building lol. If it wasn't for that I'd def invest in a Surface or something. :)
