There should be some logs in the logger, bottom right -> toggle logger I'm guessing it's the auto-zoom out, I would turn this off and just zoom out manually imo, this is not important.

It's difficult to give an ETA because it depends on the size of the update, usually within a few hours it's back to normal. This only happens once a month so it's not too bad.
