I assume he got a few days banned, got pissed, threatened to scamquit because we all say stupid shit when we're annoyed. He didn't actually scam.

The k9 thread was what sparked the post, your reaction makes sense though. However, how do you appeal if you're banned from the forums? Instant TWC would make more sense to me, although I suppose people are stupid so that gives a little extra chance of someone being scammed.

Mald you can delete if you feel this is off, but I'd like a PM if so just to discuss it. Why is it that if you scamquit but refund you're allowed back as a TWC, yet if you threaten through anger you're instantly IP banned? Doesn't this just lead to more scamquitters through vading? Discuss pls. I personally think threatening should just be given TWC for a while, IP ban seems a little extreme considering the amount of people allowed to come back who've done far worse things.

I think you completed missed the point, the point is everyone can scam. There's no fool proof method to avoid being scammed because even the most trusted of people can decide to turn. Ranks however provide more of a safety net than one without, because like I said, they're invested, which is most likely why Eliot's avoiding grey names.

Feedback, Vouches, Rank are all irrelevant. If someone decides to scam, they'll do so. All rank does is generally increase the amount someone will scam for. EG, $250 Donor won't scam for less than $250, LS won't scam for less than $150 etc, Grey names can scam for anything as they're not invested at all. This has all got a bit off topic though, someone make a debate thread
