Hello there Harrynoob! Thanks so much for making an introduction post .
  3. This fight would be pretty amazing, but due to the fact that 75 def isn't mediocre, leads me to believe that the tank would win almost every time.
  4. Don't worry about a disk drive, stick a ram in that opened hole where the disk slot goes, also instead of a case, make a case of ram, and fill it with ram, with the exception of the core (i7+) and external power to handle all of that ram you'll be using. edit: No, but seriously you need a bomb ass processor and a butt load or ram.

Isn't Debian just a base platform for Linux? Also, I was thinking of either hosting a forum, a rsps (which could get risky), or a game server like Garry's Mod. edit: I've read up on Debian, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint, and have decided on Ubuntu for now, only because Linux mint is only desktop based, and at this moment, Ubuntu seems easier to use. In the near future I will try to slowly shift into Debian, unless Linux Mint makes a server based version.l

Please give me a link for more info on that. I've never used Linux before.

Because I haven't installed an OS for it yet, I have to look at the dell site for specs, this is what I've come up with.. Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5300 series processors 48GB of fully-buffered DIMM memory 3 300GB SATA Hard drives >>I will edit post when I get an OS on it<<

Recently I have come into a fairly old server, It's processor is a small amount below the average of today's, same with almost every other part other than ram... I can get the specs later today (When I'm not as lazy as I am now)... Anyway, the point of this post is to ask: What do you think I should host/do with this new found jewel? P.S. At the end of the summer I will be coming into an almost 1gbps upload and download speed so that may help with whatever is decided on. Is it an option for me to rent it out if I get bored with it for a cheap price, or do you think no one will want to use it?
  9. I was being lazy when I typed up this post, I meant to include things like this... My room stays pretty cool in the summer, at it's hottest 80 degrees Fahrenheit, (which is very rare.) I can leave my current desktop [Dell Optiplex 745 slim] on all day on which I play games like Garry's Mod because It can't run too many other games. As for better games, I enjoy almost any game, I play Physics based games, and very high graphics based games like far cry, and all Crisis games. With video making and editing, I am mediocre at it, but do own a copy of Sony Vegas, Adobe Photoshop, and Fraps, and I would like to be able to run a game, and fraps with little to no lag. With all of this, I hope to be able to bot in the background. I'm not sure if this matters, but in the next few years I would like to try my hand at C++, C+, Java, and lua coding.

Even though I joined after ya, Welcome!
  11. Looks great! Now for a graphics card, water cooling, and fans. I'm sure that I am forgetting more lol.
  12. My birthday is coming up next month, and by the looks of it, along with my at home party with school friends, my mom is planning something BIG. My family is known to gift huge cash presents, and I want to spend the cash on a great gaming computer . I'm limiting my purchase price at $1500-2000 (2000 is kind of steep with me becoming of age to drive now so I should really be buying a car.) Anyway, I'd like to know some suggestions as to what PC build I should make, and what site has the best deals, while still being able to custom build a pc. Also, would buying a laptop be a dumb idea? Thank you for your help in advance.
