beastbenny
I have tried unplugging both the router and modem overnight and I have tried to change the MAC address on my router. Both failed to change my external IP address. I have Cox internet if that helps. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. Rage Blend
Call your Internet provider , tell them you need an ip change cuz u need to install some security cameras and Enjoy. Pd: You need the ID of the titular of the service .
Muffins
You might not have a dynamic ip then if resetting didn't work. What i did when i had a static ip was call my ISP and tell them I was being hit offline and getting ddos threats. Changed for me the next day. edit: I advise against using this tho Edited November 15, 2015 by Muffins
beastbenny
I have tried calling my ISP and they say I need to leave my modem unplugged for 24hrs. I'd rather not be internetless for 24hrs.
Genii
Resetting changes your IP, it doesn't make it dynamic.
beastbenny
I'm saying its dynamic, because that is what Cox told me it was. Businesses get static IP addresses and normal users get dynamic.
Okabe
I'm saying its dynamic, because that is what Cox told me it was. Businesses get static IP addresses and normal users get dynamic. Depends on the country.
