PC for gaming/Botting

Featured Replies

So I'm looking to build/buy a solid gaming/botting PC. My budget is around $1500, except I'm pretty lost making decisions to cut the cost, as my desired PC is $2000. This is what I've come up with so far http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/8N9cD3 .

I've got a few questions; I understand that for gaming you really only need an i5. But would an i5 be able to handle 10 seperate Osbot clients whilst doing other things in the background? I've also chosen 8GB of ram, I suppose I could always upgrade to 16GB if I really needed it.

My main problem is whilst choosing these parts; I'm thinking 'what if' I want to play this game with high specs etc, but I'm more into old school games like Age of Mythology, Age of Empires, Warcraft 3 etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and feel free to post potential builds. It will preferably be in AUD as I'm from Australia.

You can torrent windows, no need for a CD drive, and go for 16GB memory if you can.

I've downgraded to this so far;

I'll need the CD drive to install some old games that I have, it's only $20 anyway. I might torrent windows, I'm not sure yet.

And for the i5/i7, 8GB/16GB, could i5/8GB handle 10 clients alright? Or would it be pushing it?

You are aware that OSRS and OSBot only use Processing and RAM power right? You don't even need a graphics card if all you're doing is RS-ing (Oldschool).

Yeah I am :) that's why the title says Gaming/Botting. I probably should've clarified in the post though.

I have an i5-4690k and i ran like 7 bots without issue and could still play games like H1Z1, CS:GO, and SMITE. You should be ok, but if you can splurge for an i7, do so! 16GB ram is a must

edit: stick with a 970 or 390 or 390x,  I have a 960 and it runs most games ok, but for the future I'll need to upgrade, what games do you intend on playing?

Ahh thanks for the info. I'd be happy running 7 bots, but I think I'll stick to 2x4gb ram for now, and just buy another 2x4 in the future. I intend on playing Age of Empires 3 and age of Mythology extended edition, which I know it will run good with. Any FPS I'd prefer to play on console etc. But thanks so much for the info!

You should try 2xGTX 950 from MSI/EVGA (OC ones), you'll get more perfomance and much cheaper tho imo.

Wait for a sale on the SSD, go to slickdeals or reddit.com/r/buildapcsales   can get the evo pro, the regular evo is just not that fast compared to the pro.
